Based on the Zurich Municipality’s many years of positive experience with heat and cold extraction from lake/river water, the EWZ has implemented another large-scale center together with the local heat network (Wärmeverbund) in the Seefeld district of Zurich in 2019/2020.

Thanks to the excellent space conditions, the entire volume flow of 600 m³/h could be processed via a single filter. A fully automated RF3-42 DN 300 backwashing filter with extra high filtration fineness was used to effectively protect the heat exchangers from clogging by mussels and larvae living in the lake water
